Hey, I'm Giacomo.
I am an Information Designer and fermentation enthusiast based between
BerlinDE and BolognaIT.
Mainly, I am interested in exploring the intersection of technology, journalism, and culture, where I work on both commissioned and autonomous research projects. I also teach from time to time.
From design to programming, I explore the web with a focus on information structure and visualisation. My practice ranges between building web interfaces, designing tools and prototyping.
I co-founded Krisenstab, and I am currently building Vantage, while working at Airwars and metaLAB.
Occasionally, I teach at Weißensee Kunsthochschule.

An Attempt to Exhaust 10000 Characters
With the growing awareness of the environmental impact of physical publishing, why do we seem to neglect the digital side - the abundance of pixels in high-resolution images, the computational power of search queries or the endless number of tabs?
This participatory design intervention explores these questions at the threshold between analogue and digital, involving the Indiecon 2024 festival audience in the co-creation of a series of posters – representing an attempt to limit ourselves in the seemingly infinite expanse of the digital while placing the collective over the individual.
Many thanks to the IndieCon team for the invitation and generous support :)
